hello den and rob,

thank you both (and all the gang!) for having us over last week. we both had a wonderful afternoon with your beautiful dogs - we've been talking about them nonstop since! the visit convinced us even more that the chow is the right dog for us. thank you for all the helpful information and advice you gave us, we appreciate it a lot.

hope you're all well and we look forward to seeing you all in the future!

hi rob,let me start by saying a big big thank you for last week,it was nice that you took time to sit and listen to me on the phone even when i was breaking my heart.just been able to talk to somebody about saffie was really really good....now for the update,,saffie stayed in the vets til saturday she was put on stronger pain killers and a stomach settling medicine because she wasnt eating properly,we got her back home sat afternoon after been told she must have complete cage rest..haha what a joke, you trying getting a chow to do something she really doesnt want to do,she digs her heels in and wont move a muscle,i tried forcing her in but she was sooo scared soooo satuerday night at half 11 i was converting a big walk in cupboard for her to sleep in which to my amazement has worked really well..the vet has told me he will operate on her right hip first but it wont be until september because of her age and her bone growth.he has told us it is gonna be a long road but all been well she should be back to 96% of the saffie we had til last week.i will keep you up2date on her progress.as for the breeder we had her off i spoke to him last thursday after our conversation and her said his wife does the breeding and she was out at the time of phone call but she would phone me back...have i heard off her NO so looks like they are not interested into the well being of the puppies they produce........it was nice talking to you last week and once again i would like to thank you for been at the end of the phone for me....hope you and all your chows are well take care all xx

hi rob.
thankyou so much for the call today.
i am so so sorry that the outcome wasn't different for rio, but you did what you had to do.
it takes a brave and selfless person to make that decision, we all know that from our own experiences.

there was nothing more you could have done, you had tried everything possible.
you saved her from more pain and suffering, and for that rio will be eternally grateful.

you had 4 happy years full of love for each other,
so keep that in your heart.
as we said, each chow baby is different,so you will always have that special bond, that you and rio had together.

finally, grieve in peace, but stay strong for the other chowdren, especially max,he will need you more than ever right now.

i have sent you a message in your email, please make sure you read it.
will speak again in a few days,
for now, deepest sympathy and all our love
dawn,graham,gypsy,roxy and phoebe

hi rob,
lovely to catch up last night, although the news was not so lovely,it was pretty horrendous actually.
having said that,i know rio is getting the best possible care, and you know you have to stay strong for her.
please believe miracles do happen, you only have to look at phoebe, to know this is true.
it has only come to light recently, just how poorly phoebe was, when her VKH was first diagnosed, and we now realise how close we came to losing her, and how lucky she is, not only to have survived, but still have her eyesight.
the specialists at solihul call her the "MIRACLE DOG" and god, are we grateful for that!!!
so babe, take heart, keep strong, and more importantly get those candles lit,and pray like mad for another miracle.
lots of love to you,rio and all the other chow babies, and we will see you all real soon.
love Dawn,Gypsy,Roxy and Phoebe x x x
